LCK Weekly Recap and Road to MSI Preview
Gen.G (first place) has completed a perfect 18-0 run, securing their place alongside Hanwha Life Esports (second place) in Round 3 of Road to MSI. Both teams are now just one best-of-5 victory away from qualifying for MSI 2025.
The remaining teams (third to sixth place) will compete in the Road to MSI knockout bracket, where their path grows tougher based on seeding:
- Lower-seeded teams must win more matches to qualify.
- No second chances – a single loss eliminates them from MSI contention.
Dplus KIA (-132*) vs. KT Rolster (+108*) - June 4
Dplus KIA (DK) enters this do-or-die matchup with momentum, having closed the regular season on a three-match win streak - including a statement victory over Hanwha Life Esports (HLE). While DK started strong this season, a mid-split slump nearly derailed their campaign before their late resurgence.
KT Rolster (KT), meanwhile, has been the LCK's biggest turnaround story. After a poor start, they've won seven of their last eight matches, with their only loss coming against the undefeated Gen.G. Mid-laner Gwak "Bdd" Bo-sung has been instrumental, averaging a 26.6% damage share - fourth of any LCK mid this split.
DK is favored at -132* due to recent upsets, but KT offers stronger value at +108* given their superior form.

LPL Knockout Stage Recap and Preview
LPL’s Knockout Stage has been full of drama. Eight teams competed in a double-elimination format to fight for the Split 2 championship and the two MSI spots.
The first unexpected result came in the match between Bilibili Gaming (BLG) and Invictus Gaming (IG). Despite BLG being the heavy favorites in the pre-game odds (-270), a 3-0 clean sweep was beyond expectations. All of IG’s players—except for top laner Kang "TheShy" Seung-lok—were heavily criticized for their performances.
Next, Weibo Gaming (WBG) pulled off an upset against JD Gaming (JDG), despite closing as a +258 underdog. JDG’s top laner, Hu "Ale" Jiale, faced criticism for the "top gap" in the series.
Later, BLG faced Top Esports (TES) in the upper bracket semifinals. While a close match was expected—especially since TES had finished first in the rumble stage—BLG delivered another clean sweep. Despite BLG entering as a -169 favorite, few predicted such absolute dominance over TES. TES’s mid laner, Lin "Creme" Jian, had a particularly disastrous performance in Game 3, picking Yone and ending with a 1/8/2 KDA.
FunPlus Phoenix (+219*) vs. Invictus (-284*) - June 4
The next Knockout Stage match will feature FunPlus Phoenix (FPX) vs. Invictus Gaming (IG) in a do-or-die lower-bracket showdown, where the loser will be eliminated.
Current Money Line odds favor IG at -284*, but their concerning performance against BLG raises doubts—particularly in the jungle and support roles. IG’s jungler and support posted dismal KDAs of 4/15/11 and 0/19/11, respectively, in that series, highlighting a potential glaring gap.
Given these struggles, taking FPX +1.5 on the Handicap at -103* might offer better value, especially if IG’s weaker roles continue to underperform.
